The Parramatta Road Corridor Urban Transformation Strategy outlines a vision and plan for the Corridor’s growth, aiming to revitalise local communities. In response to this Strategy, CONTEXT was engaged by the City of Canada Bay to develop a Public Domain Plan for the streets and open spaces within the Homebush, Burwood, and Kings Bay precincts.
The purpose of this Plan is to identify all public domain needs early on and to guide detailed planning for the Corridor. This includes Development Control Plan (DCP) requirements, considerations for private land (such as street widening), and developer contributions.
The Plan features preliminary concept designs for streets and open spaces to aid in visioning, initial costing, and future development of these public areas.
Additionally, CONTEXT has collaborated with the City of Canada Bay to prepare an urban canopy assessment for each precinct and provide recommendations to ensure that each precinct meets the minimum target of 25% tree canopy coverage.
