Dharaggang Park, Wolli Creek

A vacant plot in Wolli Creek has been transformed into a vibrant recreational park that caters to all ages and abilities. Designed to encourage connection with nature through play, the park features inclusive play elements and sensory-rich areas, ensuring accessibility for everyone.

In this high-density area, the design integrates a native plant palette, Water Sensitive Urban Design principles, and materials like wood, sandstone, and recycled bricks. New signage, wayfinding, and custom shelters enhance the park’s unique character.

Location:
Wolli Creek, NSW
Client:
Bayside Council
Duration:
2020 – 2023

The project also reflects a strong commitment to Connecting to Country, with input from a local First Nations Working Group and a mural by Aboriginal artists Maddison Gibbs and Jason Wing decorating the active play zone. This thoughtful approach combines play, nature, and cultural elements to create a welcoming community space.
