Career: Landscape Architects

About the role  

We are seeking Landscape Architects with 3-5 years’ experience to join our team to work collaboratively on projects.

This is a vital role within the practice, responsible for planning, designing and developing high quality landscape design outcomess

Ideal candidate

You are a motivated, passionate designer who enjoys both the creative and technical sides of landscape architecture. You have a solid foundation in design, documentation, and project coordination, and you thrive in a collaborative studio environment.

Public Domain, Campbells Cove

You will bring:

  • A University Degree in Landscape Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for AILA membership (or working towards registration).
  • Minimum 3 years’ professional landscape design experience.
  • Proficiency in REVIT and knowledge of Vectorworks.
  • Strong site analysis, design, and horticultural knowledge.
  • Skilled in hand sketching and 3D visualisation.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, creative mindset with strong attention to detail and professional presentation.

A typical day would involve:

  • Starting the day collaborating with your project team to review design progress and deliverables.
  • Visiting a local project site to review construction progress or assess existing site conditions.
  • Developing concept plans and design options, supported by sketches, 3D visuals, and presentation boards.
  • Preparing and refining DA and Construction Certificate documentation.
  • Coordinating with consultants, engineers, and clients to align design intent and technical requirements.
  • Assisting with cost estimates, reports, and schedules to support project management.
  • Contributing to design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
  • Wrapping up by ensuring project files and documentation are up to date and ready for review by Project Directors.

Accountable for:

  • Delivering projects under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Preparing and coordinating presentation materials, including graphics, sketches, and renderings.
  • Producing detailed working drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Ensuring all work complies with design, regulatory, WHS, and quality standards.
  • Maintaining effective communication with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Participating in meetings, project reviews, and internal design discussions.
  • Promoting continuous improvement and contributing to a positive studio culture.
