|
CONTEXT collaborated on the Centennial Park Tree Master Plan, which was awarded the 2002 AILA Project Award. The Master Plan recorded a concise assessment of the Parklands mature tree population based on analytical studies of the age, condition and maintenance of the trees, their heritage and aesthetic qualities, and their associated ecology. The master plan also established principles covering the future landscape character, revegetation and management of the park’s spaces and living heritage. The Centennial Parklands, comprising of Moore Park, Centennial Park and Queens Park, is considered one of the great urban public parks of the nineteenth century, and the Tree Master Plan ensures this legacy will be passed on for future generations to enjoy.
