Babworth House, Darling Point

CONTEXT was commissioned to prepare the Landscape Master Plan and Management Plan for the restoration of one of Sydney's most significant early 20th century Estates. The conservation and adaptive re-use of the Babworth Estate Gardens won the Woollhara Council's Conservation Award 2004 and a commendation in the National Trust Heritage Awards 2004. The historical threads of this Victorian, Edwardian, Federation and Inter-war harbour-side garden were re-invigorated through the landscape design and restoration, which was accompanied by the sensitive siting of ten new houses within the development.
